Join us for a relaxing day trip from Pécs to the beautiful lakeside village of Orfű, located in the green hills of the Mecsek. We’ll travel together by bus and spend the day enjoying fresh air, nature, and great company.

Our easy walk takes us along the peaceful shore of Lake Pécs (Pécsi-tó) all the way to the historic Orfű Mills to discover a piece of traditional Hungarian culture, followed by free time to grab a bite or a coffee at the local café offering homemade delicacies.

Of course you can bring your own lunch and have a picnic!

Then we'll head to the nearby Vízfő Nature Trail to walk along wooden pathways over the marshland in the magical alder forest.

In spring, the forests are full of life – you might even spot wild garlic growing in the woods along the trail.

Detailed Itinerary – Day Trip to Orfű

10:15 – Meeting point

Meeting at the Pécs Bus Station.

Short introduction to the program and practical information about the day.

10:30 – Departure from Pécs

We travel by scheduled bus toward the village of Orfű, located in the scenic hills of the Mecsek.

11:00 – Arrival in Orfű - Lakeside Walk

After arriving, we begin a relaxing walk along the shore of Lake Pécs (Pécsi-tó). Along the way there will be opportunities to enjoy the views and take photos.

13:30 – Guided Tour at the Mills

We arrive at the Orfű Mills for a guided visit. During the tour, we will explore several different types of traditional mills and learn about historical rural technologies. Visitors can see how flour was produced in traditional mills and how paper was made by hand in a historic paper mill. The site offers a fascinating glimpse into everyday life and craftsmanship in earlier centuries.

14:30–15:30 – Free Time to grab a bite or a coffee at the local café offering homemade delicacies. Of course you can bring your own lunch and have a picnic!

Return by the scheduled bus.

18:00 – Arrival in Pécs
